Who is Sprilly for?
Experienced service providers. This includes freelancers, solopreneurs, contractors, consultants, and small agencies that have at least 4 years of experience building brands, either on the inside or from the outside.
Why are you building Sprilly?
After a couple years building Parsnip
, COVID-19 challenged that business, and the founders realized it was time for a pivot. Instead of tweaking Parsnip, they decided to build a new product and knew that finding experienced brand builders was something brands had always asked them about! After dozens of user interviews, they realized that brand builders were entirely dissatisfied with the platforms out there for finding clients, generating leads, and in general ‘hanging a shingle’ to alert brands that they were available and experienced. Digital ads and being mixed into pages of search results just don’t do the trick in helping brand builders feel confident in growing their business. In addition, COVID-19 also challenged the intense networking that many brand builders do to gain potential clients. So, it felt right to dive into solving this problem – and by helping the brand builders, we also get to help the brands!
What’s happening to Parsnip?
We’re just going to let it hang out there for now! We are not actively growing it nor diminishing it. And by becoming a type of service provider ourselves, we can also share Sprilly with the brand audience on Parsnip to learn more about what they want to see on Sprilly.
How are you going to make money?
Pretty simple: we’re going to offer a flat membership fee at two levels. We’re not getting involved in the contract agreements or fees of experienced brand builders, because we believe that’s their business. And we aren’t going to take a cut of the contracts between brands and brand builders, like most freelancer or consulting platforms. Think of us as a super fancy directory, with bells and whistles abounding, uniquely positioned for brands to leverage, and with a multitude of human-centric design elements to best showcase brand b builders.
